How to price window cleaning services

Window cleaning jobs vary from a quick single-story exterior to a full in-and-out with screens and tracks. This calculator prices each job type from your time, supplies, and travel, then gives you a clean window cleaning price list for estimates and flyers.

Number and type of windows
Pane count, French panes, and storm windows change the time dramatically. Many pros price per window or per pane.
Height and access
Second-story and ladder work is slower and riskier. Price it higher.
Inside vs outside
Interior cleaning means moving furniture and protecting floors. Price interior and exterior separately.
Add-ons
Screens, tracks, and hard-water stain removal are profitable add-ons.

The formula behind the calculator

Cost = (hours × your hourly pay) + supplies + travel. Price = cost × (1 + overhead) ÷ (1 − margin), rounded up to the nearest $5 (or $1 under $20). Add-ons skip the travel and setup charge, since they ride along with a main service. Every input is yours to change, so you can see exactly how each assumption moves your prices.

Frequently asked questions

How much should I charge for window cleaning?

Estimate the time for each job type, multiply by your target hourly pay, add supplies and travel, overhead, and margin. Per-window pricing is easy to quote once you know your average time per window.

Should two-story homes cost more?

Yes. Ladder work is slower and adds risk and insurance cost.

How do I price commercial storefronts?

Recurring storefront routes are usually priced per visit. They are quick and steady, so they work well as weekly or monthly contracts.
