How to price pressure washing services

Pressure washing quotes live or die on square footage and speed. This calculator converts your target hourly pay, chemical and fuel costs into a price per job type, then gives you a clean price sheet to hand to homeowners or attach to estimates.

Surface type
Concrete flatwork cleans fast; wood decks and roofs require lower pressure and soft-washing, which takes longer and carries more risk.
Square footage
Most pros quote per square foot with a minimum job charge so tiny jobs still cover travel and setup.
Chemicals and water
Sodium hypochlorite, surfactants, and water access change your real cost per job.
Height and access
Two-story homes, steep roofs, and hard-to-reach areas deserve a surcharge for time and safety.

The formula behind the calculator

Cost = (hours × your hourly pay) + supplies + travel. Price = cost × (1 + overhead) ÷ (1 − margin), rounded up to the nearest $5 (or $1 under $20). Add-ons skip the travel and setup charge, since they ride along with a main service. Every input is yours to change, so you can see exactly how each assumption moves your prices.

Frequently asked questions

How much should I charge for pressure washing?

Set a target hourly rate, estimate hours per job type, add chemicals, fuel, and equipment wear, then add overhead and margin. Always set a minimum charge so small jobs are not a loss.

Per square foot or per hour?

Per square foot works for repeatable flat surfaces; hourly or flat quotes suit custom or hard-access work. This calculator gives you a flat price per job type you can convert to a per-foot rate.

Do I need insurance before pricing jobs?

Yes. General liability coverage is a real operating cost that belongs in your overhead percentage.
