How to Price Mobile Detailing Packages

Mobile detailers can charge at or above shop prices because they sell convenience. The trick is pricing by vehicle size and including your travel in every package.

Tier by vehicle size

An SUV interior takes noticeably longer than a sedan. Separate prices for sedans and for SUVs or trucks are simple for customers and protect your margins.

Worked examples

With $40/hour pay, 15% overhead, 20% margin, and $5 travel per job:

PackageHoursSuppliesPrice
Exterior wash & wax, sedan1.25$8$95
Interior detail, sedan2$8$135
Full detail, sedan3.5$16$235
Full detail, SUV/truck4.5$20$295

Include travel, then set a service radius

Average fuel and drive time belong in your base price. Outside your normal radius, add a flat travel fee rather than absorbing it.

Sell add-ons

Pet hair removal, clay bar and sealant, and headlight restoration take minutes to quote and carry strong margins. List them with prices.

Handle problem vehicles up front

Ask for photos before booking heavily soiled vehicles and state your condition surcharge on the price menu.
