Pricing grooms by breed size and coat condition is where most groomers lose money: a matted doodle takes twice the table time of a short-coat terrier but often gets quoted the same. Enter your target hourly pay and supply costs and this calculator turns them into a price for every service, then formats a price list you can print or post.
Cost = (hours × your hourly pay) + supplies + travel. Price = cost × (1 + overhead) ÷ (1 − margin), rounded up to the nearest $5 (or $1 under $20). Add-ons skip the travel and setup charge, since they ride along with a main service. Every input is yours to change, so you can see exactly how each assumption moves your prices.
Work backward from the pay you need. Estimate hours per service, multiply by your hourly target, add supplies and overhead, then add profit margin. Local competitor prices are a sanity check, not the starting point.
Size and coat are more reliable than breed because the same breed can range from a short clip to a fully matted coat. Tier by weight, then add condition surcharges.
Review at least once a year, or whenever supply, rent, or insurance costs jump. Announce increases in advance and apply them to new bookings.
