How to price house cleaning services

Cleaning prices work best when every job is tied to hours of labor and the number of people sent. This calculator turns your hourly target, supplies, and travel into a price for every service type, then gives you a price list for your website, flyers, or inbox.

Home size
Bedrooms, bathrooms, and square footage drive hours. Bathrooms and kitchens take disproportionate time.
Service level
Standard, deep, and move-out cleans are different jobs with different prices.
Frequency
Weekly and biweekly recurring customers deserve a discount because setup time and risk are lower.
Team size
Two-person crews finish faster but the labor cost per hour doubles. Price the total labor, not the clock time.

The formula behind the calculator

Cost = (hours × your hourly pay) + supplies + travel. Price = cost × (1 + overhead) ÷ (1 − margin), rounded up to the nearest $5 (or $1 under $20). Add-ons skip the travel and setup charge, since they ride along with a main service. Every input is yours to change, so you can see exactly how each assumption moves your prices.

Frequently asked questions

How much should I charge for house cleaning?

Estimate labor hours per home size, multiply by your hourly target, add supplies, travel, insurance, and margin. Check local competitors only after you know your own floor price.

Hourly or flat rate?

Flat rates per home size are simpler for customers and reward efficiency. Use hourly pricing only for unpredictable jobs.

Do I need to charge more for deep cleans?

Yes. A deep clean usually takes about twice the labor of a standard clean and uses more supplies.
